Was thinking we could have societal rejects staying closer to the burnt/corrupted lands.. as far away from any normal society. Renowned mercenaries could come from there, all kinds of poisons from the tainted land could be a huge export from that settlement near the old land
If we didn’t follow dutzies idea of having merceranies at the tainted land and exporting poison or such from there, what if it was said to the people in Nel Fera that the old kingdom was still on fire to this day, an eternal fire, the area could be called like ‘the Amber Plane’ then, or we could follow the exporting but have it part of lore among the common folk that they’ve been told it’s still on fire.
badlands: Area away from it. I’d say South, more fitting for the eternal flame there if Nel Fera is located on the northern hemisphere of this planet and gets heated the same way we do, but it could be any direction.
